How to Play Solitaire Social?

Solitaire Social follows most of the rules of traditional Klondike Solitaire, with a few additional elements in the package. The game is played using a standard 52-card deck with no jokers. The objective is to place all the cards in the foundation in a specific order, starting from Ace to King.

The “Foundation” is one of the three main components of the game field. It comprises four parts that must be filled with card combinations in a specific order (Ace to King) of a single type – spades, diamonds, hearts, or clubs – to win the game.

The “Layout”, also known as tableau, is the primary playing field. At the start of the game, 28 cards are placed on the layout in an ascending order – the leftmost column has one card, the next column two cards, and so on. Only the topmost card in each column is revealed, and the remaining cards are revealed in a similar fashion as the game progresses.

The “Pile” is where the remaining cards that are stacked randomly. It is only possible to reveal one card from the pile at a time, with every subsequent card being placed over the previous card in the pile.

Since Solitaire Social is a multiplayer game, some of the elements of the original single-player Klondike setup have been modified. Each game is played against 1-3 other users, and all players begin with the same card setup. The goal of the game is to earn more points than the opposing player, and points are awarded for placing the correct cards in the foundation. Once placed, the cards cannot be removed from the foundation.

Solitaire Social also imposes a penalty in the form of a timer whenever a player loses a game. The said player can’t access the same game mode they lost until the timer runs out.

The new version of Solitaire on Windows is promoted as Solitaire & Casual Games, offering multiple different options in addition to the traditional Klondike Solitaire – including FreeCell, Spider, Pyramid, TriPeaks, and so on. The game can also be customized, with custom card backs available, and daily challenges are supposed to keep the game fresh and exciting as time goes on.

At the same time, this version of Solitaire uses advertisements between game matches, which can be annoying. It is possible to make a one-time purchase to turn off the advertisements forever, and some subscription users are also exempt from advertisements by default (such as Game Pass Ultimate users). Turning off your network connection is also an alternative, but cached advertisements might still play out occasionally.
